Toyota Safety Sense Package

Toyota Safety Sense™ Package

For many automakers, innovative driver alert and assist safety systems are available features on their latest models. However, Toyota’s commitment to safety and excellence means that the brand’s newest safety technology—in the form of two Toyota Safety Sense™ packages—comes standard on all new vehicles from the lineup. Abbreviated to TSS-C and TSS-P, these packages cover the need to not only protect passengers in case of a collision, but to prevent collisions from occurring in the first place. To experience these features yourself, test drive a 2017 Toyota today at Hurbert Toyota in Epping NH.

Pre-Collision System and Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD)

With the help of radar and cameras, the PCS senses impending frontal collisions and alerts the driver to help them avoid them. Additionally, brake assistance is activated automatically. Under certain conditions, the PCS will also detect pedestrians in the road to prevent collisions.

Lane Departure Alert and Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA)

This system utilizes sensors to detect where lane markings are on the road and will alert the driver if they begin to drift over the line without their turn signal activated. The option of Steering Assist provides gentle corrective steering in case of unwanted lane departure to prevent drivers from overcorrecting and veering into the opposite lane.

Automatic High Beams (AHB)

By using cameras to sense the headlights of oncoming vehicles, AHB will switch between low and high beams to optimize on-road safety and visibility for both you and other drivers. The use of high beams more frequently allows drivers to detect oncoming obstacles more easily.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)

Save gas on the highway by implementing cruise control without the hassle of having to speed up or slow down with the flow of traffic. Radar sensors will detect the speed of the vehicle in front of your car and adjust accordingly in order to prevent collisions and make cruise control more convenient.
